Hello from the Recruitment Team,
The Faith Nurture Forum is inviting people to consider further their own personal journey in ministry by joining us in a series of Discernment Webinars.
When we talk about ministry, we mean that in the widest sense – the Christian ministry that all disciples of Jesus are involved in day by day, as well as the recognised ministries of the Church (Ministry of Word & Sacrament, Ordained Local Ministry, the Diaconate, and the Readership).
We understand that ministry is always a journey…..step by step God leads people forward to new challenges and opportunities and likes to surprise many along the way! It is God who calls, and our journey is one of discerning where God might be leading us now and into the future.
Those who are interested in exploring a call to the recognised ministries are already invited to have a one-one Discernment Conversation with one of the Recruitment Team. The invitation to the Discernment Webinars is a wider invitation and we ask you to encourage anyone who you think may be interested in attending one, or all, of the of the Webinars to get in touch with us at ministry@churchofscotland.org.uk.
Each Webinar will give the opportunity to hear the personal story of someone who has been on a ministry journey, inviting those in attendance to consider and reflect on their own story and the steps and stages along the way.
There will be an opportunity to consider local ministry development, as well as time for Q&A’s and the chance to connect online with others who are similarly exploring their journey and where it might lead.
The Recruitment Team will also give an insight into Discernment for the recognised ministries and what they can do to support applicants further.
The Webinars will be hosted on Microsoft Teams monthly from Sep- Mar (omitting Dec), alternating between day and evening to offer maximum choice. Confirmed dates, times and speakers are as follows:
