Latest Update

I got my hair done today. It feels so good. I can now pretend I don’t have any gray! Nothing much else has changed though. The world is still being held to ransom by Covid-19. It’s still out there, still claiming lives and we’re all struggling in some way or other. Of course, we’d all like to get back to church, and that’s being planned, but we must wonder what God is teaching us through all of this. Have we examined our faith? Have we examined our lives, our relationships, our priorities? These are all good questions and I suppose part of my job is to ask them, but to be honest I’m not good at answering them myself. Perhaps we are all too busy just trying to get through this.

The Kirk Session is meeting by Zoom during the week. We’ll explore the way forward, bearing in mind all the restrictions we must adhere to, and considering all the limitations imposed upon us. To borrow a phrase from the government, we will try to work out a ‘road map’ for the way ahead and then let you know what we think is the best and safest plan for the future.

But here is some good news. Robert and Liz Taylor celebrated 35 years of marriage on Monday 6th July. When Robert emailed me, he said, ‘poor woman’, and who am I to disagree? Only kidding, I hope you celebrated your anniversary in style, and if you didn’t, you’ve got work to do Robert.

And Margaret and Denis Lavery will celebrate 48 years of marriage tomorrow, Saturday 18th July. With the easing of some restrictions they are going out for a meal and I’m sure they will enjoy it.

Please keep praying and read Romans 5:3-5

God bless

Ann
