Hello friends!
We had our first Coffee Morning on Zoom last week. Everyone enjoyed themselves so much that we want to do it again. I have chosen Wednesday 24th March. This time it will be in the afternoon, so maybe we should call it Afternoon Tea. Whatever! Just bring your favourite beverage and any cakes or biscuits you fancy, (if you haven’t given them up for Lent that is.) It was so good to see people, especially those we haven’t seen for a long time. We couldn’t meet in person, or give each other a hug, but it was good to chat and catch up. Shahrukh managed to put us into a couple of ‘rooms’ so we could talk with each other. Do let me know if you fancy joining us. Give me a phone or send an email ann.mccool@ntlworld.com. Meanwhile, during this season of Lent, Sandra is still posting a word or a picture on Facebook, and the response has been amazing. Well done everybody.
And our ‘Johnstone High Befriending Service’ is now up and running. You may remember I told you about this on 29th November last year. It is a telephone service for anyone who needs a phone call or just a chat, especially at this time of lockdown and loneliness. It is being coordinated by Sandra Crichton and we already have some of our members involved in it. Please PM (private message) Sandra if you would like to help. She would be glad of more volunteers for this much needed service.
Finally, our Foodbank needs more dried goods, especially pasta, but all contributions are welcome! You can hand anything into the Church on Fridays just before 12noon.
We are all trying our best to do what we can and keep our spirits up.
