Minister’s Update

Hi everyone, I have some good news for you. The Presbytery of Clyde (to which we now belong) has given us permission to open the Church for Private Prayer starting next Friday 18th September from 11am – 12 noon. According to government guidance, we are only allowed a maximum of 50 people within the church building, so if you wish to attend you will need to book a place. Please phone the minister on 01505 320006 and you will be told immediately if you can attend. If more than the permitted number apply they will be first on the list for the following week.  We know you will be sensible and only book up if you are well and if no one in your household is self isolating.

The Church will be deep cleaned by a team of willing volunteers and all the regulations necessary for safe social distancing will be in place.

To attend for Private Prayer you will need to:

  • wear a mask at all times.
  • have your temperature taken by a non invasive temperature gun directed at your forehead. (If it registers that you have a temperature you will be asked to go home and seek medical help.)
  • your contact details will be confirmed
  • hand sanitizer will be provided and must be applied
  • you will be shown to a seat by the Elder on duty
  • entry and exit will be by the two front doors on either side of the pulpit, and you can leave at any time.

These may seem like a lot of instructions but they are the conditions upon which we were granted permission to open, so they must be adhered to. They are also for your safety and for the safety of others.

It will be good to come into the church, to sit in silence, and to pray. We are in real need of real prayer, for ourselves and for the Church. One other thing though, the pew cushions have had to be removed so if you need to bring a cushion from home make sure you take it away again.

Finally, I have been asked by the Guild President Maureen Mitchell if I can relay a message to those who took a Malawi Fruits card from Russell Crawford.  Would you please hand your card/money to Jeanette Crawford? Contact her first on 01505 343855. Or contact Maureen on 01505 705450 It would be a great help for Russell to get the money to help his charity at this difficult time.

I hope you are all well and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the Church for Private Prayer.

God bless                                                                                                              Ann
